Good Friday Walk with the Cross

Yesterday we held our second annual Community Walk with the Cross in Cradock. We started with about 40 people, and picked up a few along the way, so we had about 45 by the time we got to the end of the walk.
As the community has been in transition, some folks have been afraid to walk the streets. So last year the Cradock Area Ministers decided that the churches needed to have a more visible presence on the streets. We gathered at the front entrance to the neighborhood, and continued down the main parkway to the square. We made eight stops along the way for a meditation, prayer, Scripture and singing a hymn. It seems to me this is the essence of what Good Friday is all about!
